MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Faulkner's Clayton Nicholas has been named the Sun Division co-Offensive Player of the Week the Mid-South Conference announced this afternoon. Due to a clerical error, Nicholas did not appear on the player of the week ballot in the original voting window this morning. He shares the honor with Webber International's (Fla.) Garry Chouloute.
The quarterback was an impressive 16-for-26 with 374 yards and five touchdowns in just three quarters of action in the Eagles' 48-21 victory over Webber at Billy D. Hilyer Stadium on Saturday.
Nicholas, a junior out of Abilene, Texas, ranks second in the league and 12th nationally with 299.4 yards passing per outing.
This is his fifth career weekly of his career and his second this season. Faulkner players have been awarded six weekly honors so far this year.
The Eagles sit at 3-2 overall and 1-0 in the division and will next host Ave Maria (Fla.) on Saturday. Kickoff in the division showdown is set for 4 p.m.
