MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Faulkner will be the second seed in the Avista-NAIA World Series hosted by Lewis-Clark State in Lewiston, Idaho, beginning next Friday the home office announced this afternoon.
The Eagles swept the Montgomery Bracket last week with victories over Truett McConnell (Ga.) 6-1, Huntington (Ind.), 3-0 and Huntington again 8-4 to clinch their fifth consecutive World Series appearance. The streak is the longest of any active member institution earning a bid through an Opening Round championship.
Faulkner and top-seeded Oklahoma City earned byes into the second round. The Eagles await the winner of Friday's matchup between No. 7 Science & Arts (Okla.) and No. 10 The Master's (Calif.).
Faulkner's first game of the event is slated for 5 p.m. CST on Saturday, May 27.
